Mums! Privacy Policy
Mums! is a private recipe memory app. It stores recipes you choose to save, lets you optionally share a kitchen with people you invite, and offers an optional connection to ChatGPT.
Information we collect and how
- Account data: when you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides Mums! with a unique account identifier and, if you choose to provide them, your name and email address. Mums! never receives your Apple password.
- Content you provide: recipes, titles, descriptions, versions, ingredients, steps, equipment, timing, notes, tags, Make Again choices, kitchen names, invitations, and sharing choices you create or save.
- Connection data: short-lived app sessions, one-time connection codes, authorization records, invitations, and the last recipe handoff you intentionally create.
- Service data: basic request and security information such as timestamps, network addresses, and error details may appear in infrastructure logs.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, sync and search your cookbook, preserve recipe history, operate private and family kitchens, protect the service, and complete actions you explicitly request through the Mums! ChatGPT plugin. Mums! does not sell personal information, show advertising, track you across apps, or call the OpenAI API to generate recipe content.
Optional sharing with OpenAI and ChatGPT
Mums! does not send recipe data to OpenAI merely because you use the app. Before creating a ChatGPT connection, Mums! shows an in-app disclosure and asks you to tap Allow & continue. You must then separately approve the Mums! connection in ChatGPT.
After those approvals, when you ask ChatGPT to use Mums!, the Mums! service may send OpenAI the recipe data needed for that request: recipe titles, descriptions, tags, ingredients, steps, timing, equipment, notes, Make Again state, current and earlier versions, the relevant kitchen name, member count and initials, and your role or access permission. This sharing lets ChatGPT find, read, save, or refine recipes on your behalf. Mums! does not send Apple account identifiers, email addresses, or Apple passwords to OpenAI.
OpenAI operates ChatGPT and processes data under its Privacy Policy and the settings of your ChatGPT account. We require service providers that receive data from Mums! to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this policy and required by applicable law.
Other services and recipients
Cloudflare hosts the Mums! service and database and processes stored data and service requests for us. Apple provides account authentication. People in a family kitchen can see that kitchen's recipes and limited member information according to their permissions; your private kitchen is not shared with them.
Retention
Your account and recipe data remain until you delete them or delete your account. Expired connection codes, invitations, sessions, and handoffs become unusable automatically and may be removed periodically. Infrastructure logs are retained only as needed for security and service operation.
Your choices and deletion
You can disconnect ChatGPT and withdraw data-sharing permission at any time in Profile & settings. Mums! then revokes its ChatGPT authorization and removes active connection codes and recipe handoffs. You can manage shared kitchens and delete your Mums! account in the app. Account deletion removes your private kitchen and account data. If a family kitchen has other members, ownership is transferred so their shared recipes are not deleted. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.
